Jeb Bush, who hasn't publicly picked a favorite in the Republican presidential race, privately is talking up the candidacy of Mitt Romney and steering some of his closest advisers to the campaign.
The former Florida governor has said repeatedly he won't be a candidate in 2008 despite encouragement from his father, the former president, and his brother, the current one. But Jeb Bush's support, even tacit, would be critical in the state that decided the 2000 presidential election.
'Archie' artist Joe Edwards dies CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Comic Joe Edwards, who helped launch Archie Andrews and his pals, died of a heart attack in his home in Central Islip, N.Y., at the age of 85.
Edwards created Archie, Jughead, Veronica and Betty, Edwards as well as Li'l Jinx, a wise-beyond-her-years girl who had her own comic book for a time, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Edward illustrated Army training manuals during World War II, including drawing animated cartoon warnings of minefields around Naples.
He worked for Demby Studios, which produced comic book stories for several publishers, then joined the former MLJ Comics, the forerunner to Archie Comics.
Bankruptcy judge approves sale of Air America Radio
Posted 2/16/2007 12:30 PM ET NEW YORK (AP) — A federal bankruptcy judge approved on Friday the sale of the liberal talk radio network Air America Radio for $4.25 million to Stephen L. Green, founder of a New York real estate firm. The approval of U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert Drain essentially transfers all the assets of Piquant LLC, parent company of the New York-based Air America, to a group including new and current investors.
It gives a majority stake to Green Family Media LLC, an entity controlled by Green, and a minority stake to Democracy Allies LLC. That group includes RealNetworks Inc. Chief Executive Robert Glaser and two former Air America board members.
I just wondered if Sam had it pulled down when he created the new samseder blog at blogspot.
As for the new blogger (powered by Lord Google), yeah, had to switch mine, too. Had some issues at first with remote publishing, but it seems to be working now.
Saw something I thought might interest you at kos:
A diary on the FBI's recent probe into Abramoff's CNMI dealings.
Libbygate and Abramoff are/are gonna expose a lot of the crap this admin and it's lackeys have done over the last few years. That, and the congressional hearings, should make 2007 an interesting year.
I'm not sure about the verdict yet, but the trial alone has done damage by revealing the smear campaign in furtherance of an illegal, aggressive (see Nuremberg, 1946) war.
Ever since rumors began to swirl that Air America Radio might declare bankruptcy—a rumor that became real on Oct. 13, 2006—the network’s Sixth Avenue headquarters have had the slow, deflated feel of a boomtown going bust.
The cluster of cubicles that were once occupied by a buzzy cadre of researchers sits partly empty—except for the bits that have been leased to a crew belonging to a new, unrelated radio venture by Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem. And the humor around what had once been an almost perversely upbeat operation is now more often of the gallows variety. In a recent interview, Sam Seder—one of Air America’s remaining stalwarts and the host of his own eponymous radio show—jokingly pointed to his newly functioning radiator as evidence that the place was still alive. “See?” he said. “Things are happening around here!”
But over the last couple of weeks, loyalists like Mr. Seder have become, at least, less pessimistic. The change in attitude stems from the announcement on Jan. 29 that a rescue team consisting of the publicity-shy real-estate mogul Stephen Green and his garrulous brother—former New York City Public Advocate, Nader’s Raider and all-purpose liberal gadfly Mark Green—had signed a letter of intent to purchase the struggling network.
Re the Iraq vote and the Hillary Clinton brouhaha on the net: apologize or else ...
--- ok so I just came across a few more maniacal Hillary bash threads and was thinking: What about Super Dem Harry Reid, did he ever apologize for his Yes vote? Did he? What was his excuse? Got curious, Googled and guess what?
No excuse. Imus-best-buddy(gag)- Harry Reid laughs right at you for even suggesting such nonsense and gets away with it, too. What else. But then His name is not Harry Clinton is it, lucky guy.
""The evidence at the time was persuasive -- especially if you go back and look and see what Secretary of State Colin Powell did at the United Nations," Reid said Tuesday."
---
Now, please, is that just about the lamest excuse he could come up with. Isn't that embarrassing? He is majority leader, for heaven's sake. But he should not be if he actually believed Powell's song and dance at the UN and of course he didn't IMHO.

Sorry phone call. Be back in a bit
I like the music posts NC! And several of the others do too.
I don't have many of the emails of the blog people, so I have been trying to leave the link on Sam's blog.
It's better now that I've removed the word verification.

I think you are right about McCain. He's even having problems getting support in his own state.
And I don't think the country will go for another Bush right now either.
In fact, I think the idea of another Clinton in office is turning off alot of people.
still trying to decide who I would vote for on the Dem side.

how about that...
if you expand the wee thread
it's just like the mrr blog
dispense with 2 d/boxes when posting
and it's a good as god
TYPO ALERT:
//and it's a good as god//
should be -- and it's as good as god
*tee-hee*
forgot the "s" in the "as" before the "good"
i better not push my luck in case i add an extra "s" on "as"
or whackier still, seeing as the "s" is next to the "d"...
imagine if i spelled "add" "as" "ass"
(golly! fuck! gee!)
Format's just about right, toniD.
It's "a good as god".
: )
Also, did SEDER make them pull down Shell's MRR alt blog or what? If so, I hope it got archived somewhere.
Hi WFC!
Shell's MRR blog is gone. I think she may be able to get it back but she has to change it over to google.
That's what I had to do

Never stops does it?
Abrampff had his dirty hands in everything.
Libbygate and Abramoff are/are gonna expose a lot of the crap this admin and it's lackeys have done over the last few years. That, and the congressional hearings, should make 2007 an interesting year.
I think the Libby jury will come back with a guilty verdict. Then I hope they go after Cheney.
It's going to take years to undo all the bad this admin has done.
I'd like to see an impeachment for one reason...to let future corrupt people know that they won't get away with this type of thing again.
They need to strengthen the oversight and make sure noone again allows the president the ability to get unitary powers.
I'm not sure about the verdict yet, but the trial alone has done damage by revealing the smear campaign in furtherance of an illegal, aggressive (see Nuremberg, 1946) war.
Time for me to hit the hay.
See ya another time!
