From the BBC - US 'Iran attack plans' revealed

Deny, deny, deny! The Bush admin has been denying this through the media. Of course the US press won't print this. I wonder who the source was for the BBC?

US contingency plans for air strikes on Iran extend beyond nuclear sites and include most of the country's military infrastructure, the BBC has learned.
It is understood that any such attack - if ordered - would target Iranian air bases, naval bases, missile facilities and command-and-control centres.

The US insists it is not planning to attack, and is trying to persuade Tehran to stop uranium enrichment.

The UN has urged Iran to stop the programme or face economic sanctions.

But diplomatic sources have told the BBC that as a fallback plan, senior officials at Central Command in Florida have already selected their target sets inside Iran.

That list includes Iran's uranium enrichment plant at Natanz. Facilities at Isfahan, Arak and Bushehr are also on the target list, the sources say.

Two triggers

BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner says the trigger for such an attack reportedly includes any confirmation that Iran was developing a nuclear weapon - which it denies.

The Natanz plant is buried under concrete, metal and earth
Alternatively, our correspondent adds, a high-casualty attack on US forces in neighbouring Iraq could also trigger a bombing campaign if it were traced directly back to Tehran.

tonid, thought you might be interested that the 10pm japanese news covered cheney's visit to tokyo by going into the history of the neocons, his ties to halliburton, and the fact that cheney was the one who pushed the US out of the kyoto protocol - complete with ominous music in the background. the next story was a feature on barak obama.

Morning Jenise,

At least the Japanese can see through to his black heart!

What did they say about Obama?

Jenise said...

the obama piece was interesting. it started off with a look at what he said in his book about an identity crisis about his race (which is a topic gaining attention here as the number of biracial japanese increases). then it was just an overview about how much attention he's getting and his "star power." also, some man-on-the-street interviews about whether people would vote for him - everyone said yes, actually.

how are you doing?

It's foggy here today and damp so today's not a great day for my joints.

Sorry I've been on the phone with my brother talking about what's happening in this world of ours.

I read him your post about Cheney in Japan.

He said we should impeach these bastards!

Jenise said...

i agree with your brother completely. just do me a favor and wait a couple days till he gets back. because if he stays in japan to avoid prosecution...! ; )

hope your joints feel better soon.

maybe i shouldn't mention this, but i went to my 84-year-old neighbor's house today. her 70-year-old sister (who had driven a motorcycle over the mountain to get here) was there up on a ladder with an electric drill in hand putting a new roof on the carport. when the world starts falling to pieces, i'm going over there to live with them!

Might not be a bad idea. She seems self sufficient!

G'morning.
When I posted at MRR, it didn't show up until many hours later.
Very odd. Maybe if we chipped in for a plunger for his intertubes...

Hi Guys.

Sam needs to do something. He should start another alternate. Get a new blogspot blog until his is fixed. At least this one is working.

toniD said...

Tried again at Sam's blog. Again it is taking forever to load and then I get an error message.
